Whats New, Mind Games? 2/03/18

the whole lot!

What’s that on the horizon? Its Autumn! And here at Mind Games we have new titles falling off our metaphorical deciduous branches faster than real-life deciduous leaves!

Looking for the biggest game this side of the art world about running and managing your own art gallery? The Gallerist is an epic Worker Placement boardgame from seasoned Portuguese designer Vital Lacerda (Lisboa, Vinhos). You will promote and nurture Artists; buy, display, and sell their Art; and build and exert your international reputation! It might be time to get a bigger table though - The Gallerist is a loungeroom behemoth.

That not enough juicy European resource management for you? More new arrivals including Hellas, Kilt Castle, Mea Culpa, Roll Through the Ages: Iron Age, Mangrovia or the tiny boxed Santo Domingo should sate your appetite.

Did you know wombats do cube-shaped poops? We certainly didn’t. That is until Wombat Rescue came into stock! You’re a mother wombat looking for your babies. Use your poop-cubes to plot smell areas around the map to get around – just like real wombats! Make sure you’re ingesting enough food to keep those poops coming and bring your cute babies home. The player who best plans their smell areas and moves most efficiently will prove victorious!

Looking for more accessible strategy? Try Elfenland, For Sale, Ghost Blitz, Dreams, Manila or the mad scientist flask-shaking action game: Nitro Glyxerol.

Feel like something a bit more social? The Bruno Faidutti classic, Incan Gold is back in stock! Press deeper into an Incan ruin to collect more priceless valuables than your opponents. But beware! Hazards lurk in these halls as well! Press-your-luck and collect more gems before you’re crushed by a rockfall… or worse!

Need more of that social buzz? Bluff, trick, or talk your way through I’m the Boss, Cockroach Poker, Beasty Bar or the seafaring murder mystery title Perfect Alibi (not shown due to violent cover art).

Lastly for you heavy gamers we have the huge 4x exploration title Empires: Age of Discovery! Empires: Age of Discovery is a reimplementation of Age of Empires III the boardgame but without that name due to the expense of renewing the license from Microsoft. This edition includes the Empires: Builder Expansion along with its capital buildings; its National Advantage tiles have been built into the new player boards.

Still want to put yourself on a map? We have exploration titles and area control games Dokmus, Vasco De Gama, The Cave, Nippon and socio-political germanic strategy game, Wir Sind Das Volk. Clear your schedules and get exploring!

Well, that’s a wrap for this week’s What’s New. Come in and snatch up some of these classics and future classics before we grab a rake or fire up the leafblower and they fly out the door!
